Racing
Just like our members, racing for the university is cheap and easy, in fact reading this is the most difficult part of becoming a snow sports champion. Racing for the university will give you the chance to compete on a national level whether you have experience of racing or not. Snow sports racing for the university is CHEAP! We pay for our racers and treat them like the VIPs they are (and some of them are rubbish racers!). Yes we win trophies and yes we have the most fun and yes you will improve your technique but most of all you will make lasting friendships and be proud to be purple. Everyone is welcome and our focus this year will be on the improvement and involvement of NEWCOMERS as well as returning members and the defense of our championship titles. We've got a really good fun season ahead and fingers crossed we’ll pick up a thing or two for the trophy cabinet along the way. So you’ve joined SKUM or have just been convinced to. Now get involved with the core of the club. No matter how much skiing you’ve done before, (honestly, some of us have zero experience, not me of course I’m proper flash) we want YOU for the race team!

When Trials Will Be
Trials will be in early October at our local dry slope. Anyone can come and transport is provided. Get in touch with Kenny@skum.info or come down to a weekly social at Revolution Fallowfield to make some new friends and sign up where to go to get more info Facebook “SKUM Competitors”
What It Consists Of
We compete on dry slope and real snow in slalom and giant slalom disciplines against other British universities. Skiing or snowboarding for the university is open to beginners and experienced alike. We take all levels of skier/snowboarder and give you the training and support you’ll need to start competing at regional and national level. We will have 4 mixed sex teams, 2 girls teams and 2 snowboard teams this season and thanks to people graduating there’s always plenty of room for fresh faces in the race teams.

Rivals
Manchester and Leeds have had beef dating back to the war of the roses in 1455 but now we settle our scores on the slopes and in the bars. Be ready to learn the songs and get ur best banter on because losing to Leeds is not an option!
